Ok, I’m a Red Sox fan, and for any of you out there who actually saw the movie Fever Pitch (starring Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon) being a Red Sox fan is akin to putting your life on hold for 8 months out of the year to sleep, breathe and eat everything Red Sox Nation. The latest news out of the nation is that this rookie 23-year old pitcher, Clay Buchholz (who looks 11) had a no hitter last night against Baltimore. Watching it was totally awesome. Ok, I admit, I watched it on the all Red Sox channel, but I watched the game nun the least. Here this kid comes up from the minor leagues wins his first start against the LA Angels on Aug 17 and then rocks the SOX with a no hitter in his second game. These dreams and miracles are what being part of the Red Sox nation are all about. Sometime I’ll ruminate about what it meant to be simply a fan of the Milwaukee Brewers growing up. After all the motto of the city of Milwaukee used to be “Beer, Brats and Brewers.” Doesn’t that leave you wanting more. GO SOX (For some of the best reporting on the no-hitter go to the following link :
