My family lives in the area surrounding Orlando, and I got an e-mail from one of my cousins today that they got hit pretty hard with the rain and flooding from Hurricane Fay. Everyone’s okay, but there’s the flooding damage. This is really unusual, given how far inland Orlando is. My brother Dave, has now moved to Tallahassee, Florida to begin his Ph.D program at Florida State, and Tallahassee was hit with the wind and the rains of Faye too. Now they’re wondering about the new tropical storm Gustav. Give me snow any day. At least you can see the snow! (And they make 4 wheel drive cars too!) So please pray for everyone in Florida!
I decided to shut down this blog site for a while because I was having trouble keeping up with writing here and so I decided that I needed a break to collect my thoughts, and really take care of myself for a while. But you, my family and friends have been absolutely great. I’ve gotten calls and e-mails asking if everything was okay, because you tried to log in here and were getting error messages. Gee, I never thought that my random musings would be of any interest to anyone but me! So thanks to you all for really caring about me, I really appreciate it!
